Lengthy periods in perimenopause
Whilst lengthy periods are to be expected in perimenopause, how long is too long? I understand that with ovulation no longer necessarily happening as often this may bring about a lengthy & heavier period in order to shed the extra uterine lining that would build up, but does a period over two weeks in length require further investigation? And how does HRT effect this phenomenon? Should being on HRT (in this case 75mg estradiol patch & 100mg prometrium capsule) result in a more 'controlled' period? And is it possible that reducing the estradiol dose could have a shortening effect?
