Hair thinning in menopause

Hi Dr. Briden,
I found you through my daughter, who's 31 and credits you with solving her insulin-resistance health issues. I'm 63. Last fall a blood test showed I was pre-diabetic, which I know you've written is common for menopausal women. This winter/spring I tested below the pre-diabetic range. But in this time period my once very thick hair has thinned such that I feel I look like a completely different person. I'm wondering if this is left over from when I was in the pre-diabetic range or if it's just a typical old-age problem, and if there's anything I can do to get my hair back. I'd appreciate your advice.
Thanks.
