Reasons for OCOP

Hi Lara,
According to the conventional approach to symptoms management of PCOS, oral combined contraceptive pills are prescribed to:
1- protect ovarian reserve
2- avoid endometrial hyperplasia d/t unopposed estrogen
3- suppress ovarian androgens
Can you explain the idea of "protecting ovarian reserve"..?
Also, how do you explain the statement that there may be a possible return of ovulation after women have used OCOP..?
Thank you so much in advance!
Warmly
Laure
