Helping teenage daughter with flooding periods

My teenage daughter has had her period for a year and a half. For the last year her periods have been almost impossible to manage. She regularly misses 2 days of school a month and wakes up drenched in blood and with the bed soaked despite wearing heave pads. Her doctor prescribed tranexamic acid, which did not help, and now she has started hormone therapy. I just found your podcast and am feeling like I've been doing everything wrong, I didn't realize there were more natural approaches to dealing with this very difficult issue. Would you recommend her stopping birth control and starting with removing dairy? At this point she is also anemic and has very low energy.
