How to be sure about insulinresistance?

Hello Lara Briden,
I am a big fan of your books and work and it is REALLY hard to find any doctor of your knowledge in Germany.
I have a question about my PCOS (it was correctly diagnosed and I have it 10 years now).
I am lean, all fasting blood sugar is okay (77 mg/dl), also cholesterin (HDL 75 mg/dl, LDL 105 mg/dl) and other bloodfat.
HOMA Index: 1,8.
HbA1-c: 5,3% or 34 mmol/mHb
Should I do an ogTT or any other test?
Can I say, that I don't have a insulinresistance?
I always wonder. Because some say you can only now it by ogTT.
I eat very high protein and rather low carbohydrat food and I do a lot of walking anyway.
My endocrinologist suggested Metformin, but I am not sure.
I would be very happy about your advice!
Hannah
