Breathing challenges during menopause transition

The inconclusive resources I've found so far to help explain the feeling of my chest being compressed despite being a (formerly) healthy and active person:

Menopause Is Associated with Accelerated Lung Function Decline
Kai Triebner et al
https://www.avogel.co.uk/health/menopau ... menopause/
"The decline in forced vital capacity was equivalent to the damage caused by smoking 20 cigarettes a day for 10 years. The reduction in FEV1 was similar to what a pack-a-day smoker experiences over two years, the researchers said."

I hope you will cover this topic in a future podcast, and how to tease apart the element of anxiety that obviously follows not feeling like one can breathe. Sometimes breathing restriction is caused by anxiety, but sometimes, it sounds like, it has another cause. It would be so helpful to discuss both!
Thank you for your work.
