Re: Incessant Discharge
Well, if it's not a yeast or bacterial infection it's normal. The vagina is "self cleaning" it's also a mucous membrane so needs to be kept moist, discharge is normal--something no one ever tells you. Enjoy it while it lasts, menopause is likely to change all of that (to varying degrees).

Substitute for DIM
I have been taking DIM for a couple of months, and felt like it was helping balance everything, but I'm having trouble sourcing it here in Germany. Is there something else I could take instead? Indole-3-carbinol? Resveratrol?

Re: PCOS and Perimenopause
ok, so I've been making some adjustments and experimenting a bit to see what helps. I've just re-started Inositol in the last few days and that seems to be having a positive impact. I'd taken it before, but didn't see any difference in anything, but I'm taking 8-10 grams/day this time (took 2g befor...

Re: Constipation post ovulation
I've had similar issues and found drinking more water (about 4 to 4.5 litres/day) helped. On bad days I would drink about 4 glasses in a row and that would get things moving again. Also, I've just changed probiotics and have found it's taken about a week to adjust to those and have regular bowel mov...

Re: Risks of birth control pills for 16-year old daughter if her mother (me) has osteoporosis
Hi Wendy, I can't answer your question, but I would like to share my experience with being on the Pill from a relatively young age, although not as young as your daughter (I am now in my mid-50's). I went on the Pill at 21 for PCOS, so a completely different issue than your daughter, so none of this...

Re: New concerns about Ashwagandha?
I'm taking several other supplements, the other one that seems to be making a significant impact is DIM because I also have PCOS and Milk Thistle. I just started the Milk Thistle this week because I haven't been sleeping despite taking magnesium at bedtime. The four nights (so far) that I have taken...

Re: New concerns about Ashwagandha?
Hi,
A couple of comments:
1. The study that the man who wrote the blog post you linked to is from 1998, and I only see that study referenced aside from his personal experience--his blog post is new, the study is old
2. I have been taking it for over a year and feel much better on it than off it.

Re: Chapter 2 - the emotional experience of perimenopause
Having been diagnosed with PCOS when I was 21 and not having a regular cycle until my late 30's--thanks to the work I did with a naturopath (I'm now in my mid-50's and perimenopausal for almost 10 years), I have been pleasantly surprised that my body is doing this without a lot of intervention. So f...
