Just had my first colonoscopy

I had it in the second half of my cycle, which I thought was a good strategy since I get bloated during that time. I thought cleaning out my bowels would help. Interestingly, I still felt gassy and like I was retaining fluid even after being empty! Right up until the procedure, I still felt like I had to go (even passed gas while laying in the hospital bed waiting my turn). The doctor told me it was normal to feel gassy after a bowel prep, but I have to wonder if it was still my hormones. Or could it be the state of my gut (dysbiosis, etc.)? After the procedure, they didn’t find anything major and I actually felt better than I did going in. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!
