Hi Lara,
I wanted to ask you if it's possible to take bioidentical hormones while breastfeeding.
I am 39, and after my period stopped in February I have been diagnosed with premature menopause. My hormone levels are:
FSH 177
LH 120
Prolactin 43
17beta-estradiol 6.5
Progesterone 0.17
The problem is that I am still breastfeeding my one-and-a-half year old daughter, and I would like to continue to do so. Doctors told me, however, to stop breastfeeding and start the therapy as soon as I can, within the next six months.
Would you also recommend that, or could I start it later on?
Can I otherwise take it while breastfeeding?
Thank you

Re: Bioidentical hormones while breastfeeding
Talk to your doctor, of course. But in general, estrogen can suppress milk supply. While progesterone is usually fine.
