Progesterone troche

Hi Lara, I get premenopausal therapy through a women’s clinic where they provide progesterone troches. I don’t recall seeing any info about these troches in your books. Are they just as effective as prometrium in your opinion? I’ve been on progesterone troches for 5 years but then thought I would try prometrium as recommended in your books. I trialled prometrium for 4 months but gained 5 kilos during this time, (no other change to diet etc) so then went back on the troche…….I’ve lost 1.5 kilos but still have then other 3.5 kg to lose. apart from the cost being more expensive, are there any other disadvantages to progesterone troches? I am on 225 mg troche and take 1/2 Troche from day 12-21 then one full troche day 22-32.

The troches can be a reasonable way to take progesterone. Are yours only progesterone-only? Or a combination with estrogen?
