HRT Weight Gain

Hi there, I'm 44 in early menopause and after testing, my provider prescribed vaginal estrogen, the estradiol patch and progesterone. From a mood/sleep perspective, I have felt SO much better, however within 10 days of starting the treatments, I've gained 6 pounds around my hips and thighs, have tender breasts and had a yeast infection, which is uncommon for me. These are clear signs of excess estrogen, but my estradiol was low (19pg/ml). Do you find there can be an initial weight gain and symptoms when starting HRT but that they become balanced over time or is my body already waving the white estrogen flag?
