200mg utrogestan continously?

Post by sjlee000 »

I understand women who are still having periods are advised to take utrogestan cyclically. Women who have stopped periods can take continuous Utrogestan/HRT. I have been advised that 100mg continuously is also fine for my age, 51.

I now have terrible insomnia all month long, still having erratic periods & I am a hormonal migrane suffer. Only recently started feeling hot (not sweats) at night.

I recently started taking 200mg utrogestan all month long, which helps the insomnia. If I take a break for a few days I don´t sleep! I take 25mg estrogen for 2 to 3 weeks which covers the follicular & ovulation migranes.

Is this considered too much progesterone? Or it is safe as long as there are no adverse reactions?

Thanks!

In general, it is fine to take 200 mg every night. But of course, check with your doctor.
