Can DIM increase androgen?

Post by Marie »

Hi, I have read your book, thanks for that!
Can DIM increase androgen?
Let me tell you a little background. Sorry my english is not very good!

I am 29 years old, height 170 centimeters and weight 70 kilograms. I have not been diagnosed with PCOS. I have regular periods of 29-33 days. Normal period, not heavy. Lasts 3-4 days. No ovarian cyst. LH and FSH ratio normal. LH 5 and FSH 6.5 cycle day 3, but androgens high. Within the reference values, but at the upper end.
Symptoms, acne at a young age (treated with accutane) hirsutism and hair loss. No hormonal contraception for 3 years. I took spironolactone 2 years ago. Spironolactone caused anxiety and hair loss. It helped well with hirsutism, it really helped the hirsutism already in 3 months. I had a few dark hairs on my upper lip (I'm naturally fair)

I started saw palmetto and spearmint 8 months ago, no effect. I added DIM 5 months ago. Now the upper lip hairs are much more abundant. The hairs on the hands have darkened a lot (before the hairs were light) Dark hairs on the hind legs. Increased bikini hair. This started after adding DIM. And now the hair loss also started. So can DIM increase androgen?

Or is it a combination of DIM, saw palmetto and spearmint? I also use berberine (although insulin 9 ie less than 10) Do I stop everything?
DIM helped my anxiety. I don't have anxiety anymore.

Addendum: I ovulated, according to the ovulation test, and mucus every cycle. Prolactin normal 150. Also acne increased after DIM. Before that, some random pimple.

I used DIM 75-150 mg/day. Brand Allergy research group DIM this https://fi.iherb.com/pr/allergy-researc ... lsrc=aw.ds
The recommendation was to take 300mg/day.

I've read that DIM is supposed to block androgens, as you say. Some sites say that DIM increases testosterone and lowers estrogen, which is why men take it.

I take zinc, magnesium, berberine, NAC and eat healthy.
