Prolactinoma and Vitex

Two years ago an MRI revealed that I have two benign microadenomas on my pituitary gland. Since then, I haven't been able to receive medication or treatment for them, despite my prolactin levels remaining elevated and being anovulatory. I have taken Vitex on and off during this time and have always felt concerned with taking it for too long. I've read in both the Hormone Repair Manual and the Period Repair manual that Vitex shouldn't be taken for more than 6 months. I would like to know if this recommendation applies to people with proteinemia or if using Vitex for >6 months is safe in this case.
